INFORMATION
Timothy Godfrey Okoro, popularly known as Tim Godfrey, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, worship leader, recording artist, and music minister widely acclaimed for his energetic worship style and crossover appeal. He was born on September 23, 1979, in Lagos State, Nigeria, and grew up in a Christian family where music and ministry were integral parts of life. From a young age, Tim displayed a passion for music — particularly gospel and praise — which later became the foundation of his global music ministry.
Tim Godfrey’s music career began long before mainstream recognition, serving in church choirs and worship teams while developing his vocal and musical abilities. He gained widespread attention independently with songs that blended contemporary gospel with Afro-centric rhythms and high-energy worship sessions that appealed to both young and older audiences. His breakout came with impactful tracks such as “Nara,” “Awesome,” “Omemma,” “Alagbada Ina,” “Power Belongs to God,” and “Toya” — songs that became anthems across Nigeria, Africa, and in the global gospel community.
In 2013, Tim Godfrey founded SPAC Nation (SPAC Worship), which later became known as Tim Godfrey and The SPAC Nation Choir (now called The Tim Godfrey Worship Team / The Tim Godfrey Collective), a gospel music collective and choir that ministers at concerts, church services, and international events. Under his leadership, the team has released powerful worship songs, albums, and live recordings that combine rhythmic grooves, dynamic arrangements, and passionate declarations of faith. Their collaborative spirit has helped elevate many gospel talents and worship leaders.

Tim Godfrey is also widely known for organizing Tim Godfrey’s Fearless Gospel Concert, one of Africa’s largest and most anticipated gospel music events. The concert draws thousands of worshippers, features local and international gospel artists, and is designed to create an atmosphere of praise, worship, and encounter with God. Through this platform, Tim Godfrey has helped expand the reach of African gospel music and promote unity within the gospel arts community.
Internationally, Tim has collaborated with iconic global worship and gospel artists including Israel Houghton, Kirk Franklin, Don Moen, Esther Smith, Todd Dulaney, and Micah Stampley, among others. These collaborations have helped bridge Nigerian and global worship cultures, contributing to the growing influence of African gospel music worldwide.
One of Tim Godfrey’s most popular releases is “Nara (Live)” — a song featuring Travis Greene that became a mainstream breakthrough and was widely sung in churches globally. Other notable releases such as “Power Belongs to God,” “Alagbada Ina,” and “Too Faithful” further demonstrate his versatility and ability to craft worship songs that combine sound theology with vibrant musicality.

Beyond recording and performing, Tim Godfrey mentors emerging gospel artists, leads worship intensives, and serves as a speaker and worship ambassador at major Christian events worldwide. His commitment to excellence, passion for worship, and dedication to evangelism continue to shape his ministry and impact the global gospel scene.
In his personal life, Tim Godfrey is married and maintains a family life centered on faith, purpose, and service. Through his music, leadership, and ministry platforms, he continues to inspire believers to pursue a deeper, bolder expression of worship and devotion to God.
