Dunsin Oyekan was born on November 5, 1984, in Ilorin, Nigeria, into the family of Pastor Gbadebo Oyekan, the General Overseer of the Evangelical Baptist Church. Growing up in a Christian home, Dunsin was exposed to music and ministry from a young age. His father encouraged his musical gifts, and by the age of ten, he had already begun learning the guitar. Over the years, he became skilled in several instruments, including the bass guitar, drums, and keyboard.
He completed his primary and secondary education in Ilorin and went on to study Industrial Chemistry at the University of Ilorin. Although trained in science, his deep love for worship led him to fully embrace gospel music ministry around 2014, marking the beginning of his journey as a full-time worship minister.
Fondly called “The Eagle,” Dunsin is known for his powerful worship sound and spiritual depth. His music focuses on intimacy with God and revival in the body of Christ. Through his songs, he aims to create an atmosphere where people experience the tangible presence of God. He has released several spirit-filled albums, including Code Red (2016), Kingdom Now (2019), The Gospel of the Kingdom (2021), The Birth of Revival (2023), and The Great Commission (2024).
Beyond recording music, Dunsin leads impactful worship gatherings such as “The Upper Room,” “The Outpouring,” and “Code Red Worship Experience,” events that draw thousands of believers into intense moments of worship and revival. His ministry emphasizes surrender, holiness, and a passionate pursuit of God’s presence.
Dunsin was married to Adedoyin Oyekan on February 2, 2013, and they were blessed with two children before her passing in 2019. Despite this painful loss, he has continued to pour his heart into worship, often using his experiences to bring healing and encouragement to others through his songs.
