INFORMATION
Chinyere Udoma (born 1976 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria) is a veteran Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and worship minister known especially for her powerful worship songs delivered primarily in Igbo. She is widely regarded as one of the leading voices in Igbo gospel music, blending traditional cultural rhythms with contemporary gospel and worship styles that resonate deeply with believers across generations.
Chinyere’s musical journey began in the church choir at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nnokwa, where her vocal talent was first recognized. She later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, a background that helped her communicate effectively through her music and ministry. Her professional recording career started in 1999 with the release of her debut song “Ị dịghị ajọ njọ,” but her breakthrough came with the 2000 album Agu N’eche Mba, which established her as a leading name in Nigerian gospel music.

Over more than two decades in ministry, Chinyere Udoma has built an extensive discography that includes albums such as Divine Praise, Wind of Glory, Marvelous God, Merciful God, and Eze Mmuo (Endless Walk With Jesus Reloaded). In 2025, she continued her impactful output with the single “All Sufficient God,” a worship anthem celebrating God’s unlimited power and provision.
Her music is characterized by spirit-filled worship, lyrical depth, cultural richness, and melodic rhythms, often fusing Igbo language with gospel themes of faith, deliverance, thanksgiving, and divine faithfulness. Because of this distinctive blend, Chinyere is affectionately regarded by many as a “queen of Igbo gospel music.”
Chinyere Udoma’s influence extends beyond the recording studio. She has ministered at major gospel concerts, church events, and worship gatherings both in Nigeria and internationally. In 2018, she shared the stage with global gospel star CeCe Winans at the Women of Praise inaugural concert in Nigeria, marking a notable moment of international collaboration and recognition.

In her personal life, Chinyere is married to Ifeanyi Akaekpuchionwa, whom she met at a crusade, and they have a family together. She is also involved in philanthropy and community outreach, using her platform to support humanitarian causes and mentor younger gospel artists.
Through her long and ongoing career, Chinyere Udoma remains a defining figure in gospel music — a worship leader whose songs have not only shaped Nigerian gospel culture but also carried messages of hope, faith, and spiritual resilience to believers around the world.
