Preye Odede (full name Oyinkepreye Odede) is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, worship leader, musician, and record producer known for his powerful worship songs and deep lyrical messages of faith, hope, and God’s faithfulness. He was born on June 16, 1990 in Isampou, Ekeremor, Bayelsa State, Nigeria, and grew up as the third child in a family of seven siblings.
Preye’s musical journey began in the church choir as a young boy. He sang in the children’s choir before progressing to the main church choir, where his talent continued to shine. He also joined an all-male a cappella group called Born to Praise and later became a soloist in the Casor Reconciliation Choir at Abia State University, where he earned a degree in Microbiology.
His passion for worship music grew stronger over time, and he began releasing singles that spoke to spiritual resilience and praise even in difficult seasons. “Ebezina,” which was inspired during a challenging period of personal and family struggles, became one of his breakthrough songs and helped cement his reputation in gospel music.
Preye Odede has released multiple albums, including My Script and Ready, and later No Restriction, building a discography that blends gospel, contemporary worship, and Christian music with heartfelt testimonies and devotion. He has shared stages at major gospel events and international concerts, spreading messages of faith through his voice.
In addition to his music career, Preye is a dedicated music minister and CEO of Script Music, a label and ministry that supports gospel music production and outreach. He is also involved in philanthropy and evangelistic efforts, including educational support projects and prison ministry outreach that serve underprivileged communities.
Preye Odede continues to inspire with songs such as Bulie, Oshimiri Atata, Idi Ebube, and Okaka, and his ministry remains focused on uplifting believers through worship, testimony, and the power of God’s word.
