Sinach, whose full name is Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu (née Kalu), is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader. She was born on March 30 in Ebonyi State, Nigeria, and is the second daughter in a family of seven children. She studied Physics at the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State before fully dedicating herself to music ministry.

Her journey into music began in 1989, singing as a hobby in church. Over time, her passion grew through her involvement with Christ Embassy (LoveWorld), where she was mentored and encouraged to pursue gospel music as a calling. Sinach soon became a leading worship leader within the ministry and later gained international recognition for her powerful and Spirit-filled songs.

She has written and recorded over 200 songs, many of which have become global worship anthems. Her breakout song, “Way Maker,” released in 2015, became an international hit, covered by countless artists and translated into multiple languages. The song went on to win the GMA Dove Award for Song of the Year (2020) and made Sinach the first African artist to top the Billboard Christian Songwriters chart in the United States that same year.

Beyond “Way Maker,” Sinach has released several albums and other well-loved songs such as I Know Who I Am, The Name of Jesus, Great Are You Lord, and Victory Is My Name. Her music carries a consistent message of faith, victory, and the power of God’s Word, resonating deeply with believers worldwide.

In her personal life, Sinach married Joseph Egbu in 2014, and they welcomed their first child in 2019. Today, she continues to inspire millions globally with her songs, serving as one of Africa’s most influential gospel artists and a true ambassador of worship music to the world.
