INFORMATION
Phil Wickham is an American contemporary Christian singer, songwriter, and worship leader known for writing many worship songs that are widely sung in churches around the world. He was born on April 5, 1984, in San Diego, California, in the United States. Phil grew up in a Christian home where music and worship were an important part of daily life. His father, John Wickham, served as a worship leader, and this strongly influenced Phil’s love for worship music. As a teenager, he began leading worship in church youth groups and started developing his songwriting and musical skills.
Phil Wickham began his professional music career in the early 2000s and released his first independent album in 2003. His popularity grew significantly after the release of the album Cannons in 2007, which introduced his unique style of worship music that blends contemporary Christian sounds with acoustic and pop influences. Over the years, he has written and recorded many songs that have become favorites in churches worldwide. Some of his most well-known songs include Living Hope, This Is Amazing Grace, Battle Belongs, House of the Lord, and Great Things. His lyrics often focus on themes such as God’s grace, hope in Jesus Christ, faith during difficult times, and joyful worship.

Throughout his career, Phil Wickham has released several successful albums, including Heaven & Earth, Living Hope, and Hymn of Heaven. His music has received widespread recognition in the Christian music industry, and he has been honored with several GMA Dove Awards for his contributions to worship music.
In 2014, Phil Wickham experienced a serious health challenge when he developed a polyp on his vocal cords that caused him to lose his singing voice. Doctors warned that he might not be able to sing again. After undergoing surgery and a period of recovery, his voice was restored, an experience he later described as life-changing and spiritually significant.
Phil Wickham is married to Mallory Plotnik Wickham, and together they have several children. Alongside recording music, he continues to lead worship, write songs, and tour internationally, ministering through music and encouraging believers around the world with messages of faith and hope.
